Well, they took a risk with the DS, and it payed off bigtime. They really played their cards right, and it ended up paying off. Nintendo's strategy in the handheld market has been to eliminate Sony as quickly as possible. They showed this with the DS, and now with the 3DS they are doing the same thing. (Buying every big Japanese game, choking the life out of the Vita)

I wish Nintendo had the same kind of determination with consoles that they do on handhelds. They make incredibly smart decisions most of the time in terms of handhelds.
