So your argument falls flat as it is pressuming SSB is a console seller. As I have said the sales show a minimal increase in sales prior and post release of SSBB.

May I then ask why you don't consider NSMBW a system seller? Would you consider the original NSMB a system seller? What exactly DO you consider a system seller?

To be honest this is where game analystics falls short - NSMBW may have been an after-thought purchase or system seller. Looking at the sales, it looks like it was released during a seasonal climb anyway so it's rather ambigious as to whether it was a system seller or not. However there is at least an increase in sales for a sustained time to a much larger percent than SSB. 

A system seller is obviously a game that sells systems. So one that will help to break a plateu or trend in sales. There's no other description for a system seller that would make sense. 

Looking at the sales for Mars 2008 it's quite evident that there were more Wii's sold that for any other Mars before or since... It's weird how SSB was released that particular month...

You're joking? You are just comparing march to march? Seriously? You have to look at the entire trend - that's how graph analysis is done...

Now what is interesting is Mario Karts does look like a system seller - look at the spike in May 3rd, which I'm guessing has something to do with MK being released in NA on the 27th April. 

SSBB does look like it causes systems to be sold, but we are only talking of 1 million at the very most, all territories included. While that is nice to see, that's not going to save any consoles, especially one that isn't proving to be popular as of this moment in time. I think consoles sell for multiple reason - amount of quality games, future prospects, franchises, price. If it doesn't have a mix of all of these, no one game or franchise can help to save it.
