SSB1 sold roughly 5m

SSB2 sold roughly 7m

SSB3 sold roughly 11m

This gives us an indication that the series actually is GAINING fans and popularity. It stands to reason that the series has a standing fallowing that play each installment, and that should mean that people in their 30's are willing to play the next installment as well. It's not all about nostalgia; people play this game because they think it's good, or else it wouldn't see growing sales.

Let's compare this to other fighting games; Tekken has sold 39m over 20 games on multiple platforms, and Street fighter has sold 31m over 40 games on multiple platforms, while Super Smash has sold 24m over 3 games only on Nintendo consoles. All according to VGC. This tells us that people actually thinks that SSB is the BEST fighting game out there since it consistently sell more copies per installment than the best selling fighting franchises out there. And don't it stand to reason that the best game in a genre would sell some consoles if it were exclusive (which SSB actually is)?

NSMB Wii was popular. Has it sold consoles? Nope.

So your argument falls flat as it is pressuming SSB is a console seller. As I have said the sales show a minimal increase in sales prior and post release of SSBB.

May I then ask why you don't consider NSMBW a system seller? Would you consider the original NSMB a system seller? Or would you consider NSMB2 a system seller? What exactly DO you consider a system seller?
