I wonder if this did. On one hand Sim City had a a really big Opening, and the biggest in the franchise.
On the other hand,it generated a lot of negative PR, and you could argue would have been bigger if not for the disastrous opening.
Granted I'm sure EA not posting profit much during his tenure had the most to do with it.
