Depends on the genre as others have said. However, putting everything in and finding the average:
Short- Below 10 hours
Average- 15-20 hours
Long- Over 35 hours
Long (JRPG)- Over 50 hours
I tend to do a "Pound Per Hour" thing to determine if I've got my money's worth from a game. So if a game costs £40 and I play it for 40 hours I feel as though it was worth it.
