What I find strange about the 2009 thing is that its coming from these people with close ties to the videogame market. Am I the ONLY one that realizes that if it takes the Wii until 2009 to finally start slowing down, that the war will already be OVER? The more the console sells the more software it will move and the larger the userbase, the larger the userbase and the higher the software sells the more publishers will jump on that consoles bandwagon, the more games the publishers pump out, the more consoles people will buy, for the GAMES, and the more consoles the people buy.... well it just starts all over from the top again. In 2009 if the Wii has sprinted all the way through 2007 and 2008 the Wii will hold a significant and respectable place in the eyes of the game publishers, period. They WILL be putting alot of software on it.

By that point it doesnt matter how bad the games look in comparison to the other consoles. The purchasing public buy the console with the games. Thats just how it is, and if the Wii's library is vast with nothing but more support on the horizon come 2009, then the war will have long since been decided for this gen, 1080p capable or not. That just seems to be lost on so many people, I just dont understand it. If come 2009 the Wii is getting dated, but DQX, FF14, and other large and highly anticipated 3rd party games are coming out FOR it in 2009, the public will not CARE, they arent going to just not buy those games and ignore them. They will buy them, and play them on their Wii's.
