Actually, the PS3 isn't the highest selling system in Japan; the 3DS is.  The WiiU will eventually find its stride there; Dragon Quest X at the end of this March will give it a considerable boost.



I meant wii u + ps3 version of RE lol. 3ds has 7 different colors in the top 100!


At this point it's hard to tell HOW the game will fare in Japan, but with Dragon Quest X coming up, Japanese gamers will start to take notice of the system, and RE actually DOES have a following on Nintendo systems there.  Case in point:  Revelations was a smash on 3DS.  But even RE tends to sell better in Western shores than Eastern ones, so... we'll see.

 

And don't forget, even with the slumping WiiU sales, Nintendo is still a presence in Japan, and they arguably know how to market the system better there than in America or Europe (just look at their NSMBU commercial and compare that to the US ones).  Nintendo also has games of their own to boost the system there as well, notably Game & Wario, launching just a few days before DQX.
