It's negative, but I think the negativity is justified a bit. The longest drought in console history, right at the beginning of it's lifespan. That in itself is pretty bad, but the fact that the Wii got little to no support it's last few years, coupled with this, spawns a negative mentality. I'm angry about it myself.

longest drought in console history? are you sure about that?

I think the N64 launch was way more catastrophic, it launched with THREE games..........and still sold 30m+ consoles and a SHITLOAD of software, if i recall SMario 64 was the best selling game of that generation.... this negativity towards Nintendo has to stop, its just embarrasing...

First of all, yes it is the longest drought, unless you count downloadable games.

And secondly, Mario 64 is 20 times better than any Wii U game on the market today. It was the first 3D plat, it was revolutionary. There is nothing like it on the WIi U. That comparison is flawed.

as a nintendo fan since the late 80s I seem to recall this sort of thing happening all the time...of course there might have been points where a few games were released (for whatever system was current at the time) but I had no interest in em so it just seemed like no games were being released as I tend to only go for the 1st party core titles...no wonder I was forced to become a multiplatform guy...

..this game drought just seems like nothing new to me (though I can appreciate why some may find it unacceptible)...I feel like I've been putting up with this shit from nintendo all my life. Lotta newer fans dont seem to realise the wait for just one decent nintendo title in a year (or 2...or 3) is something I feel like I've been 'tolerating' for 20+ years (jeese that's sad, but like I said I'm a multiplat guy so I guess I never noticed cos I was otherwise occupied!). I mean, I've bought maybe 4 games for my 3ds, which I bought at launch and only 2 of those were actually games I would consider hotly anticipated by me.
