God of War: Ascension has the best gameplay in the series' history. UPDATE: (Omg, I finished it! 9.3/10)

It has the best for a GOW game i repect and agree with the TC there, but most definitly not the best this or last gen.

One could argue for best graphics!

DMC  old and teh reboot adn bayonetta. theres plenty right there :)

The combat system in either of the games i mentioned above , is far mroe complex than any GOW series. The list of moves you get in those games is hell alot more then what you have in GOW  . The way in which yo execute the moves in DMC games or even bayonetta or Ninja gaiden the original on the xbox ( the best hack and slash to date and the only good ninja gaiden game) is far more complex  and  has more depth than GOW because  its not just tappin the  attack button. For example Some moves in bayonetta involves pressing doing a quarter circle with teh attack buttons to perform the moves  therfore to string teh combos in those games are far more skillful then any GOW games. What i am trying to say is  that GOW gameplay is very simple
