Arguably the 4th to 5th generation (SNES-N64) or the 6th to 7th generation (PS2-PS3) had much, much bigger leaps. These games will look nicer and run smoother, yes, but will it really be as big a leap from a gameplay perspective as 2D-3D or SD-HD? I really don't think so, and I don't expect anyone else does either.
