You see me defend the Wii U sales? That's not what I'm doing. They're poor, no doubt. But all consoles do have rocky launches, and looking at the 3DS and PSV (which are not featured in the graph) would suggest this is a trend which will likely be followed. This does not explain Wii U sales, nor excuse them for being poor.

I also said that sales were up 40% this month over last, so although I have no objection to the thread because it makes a point, it's something which we've known for a fair while, had several (more than that) on the subject, causes arguments for no reason and would have been more topical a month ago.

We had similar threads and posts after the 3DS launch. Everyone pointed as it being the worst HandHeld launch of all time, and the PSV would dominate it, forcing Nintendo to go 3rd party. It went a long time with no games, but at Christmas it received 3D Mario, Zelda, Monster Hunter and Mario Kart, with a price cut a few months earlier, to take all momentum from the PSV.

Who's saying this won't happen again? It's unlikely, but with Zelda, 3D Mario and Mario Kart all lined up for Christmas, and likely a price cut to fend off the other consoles...

"All consoles do have rocky launches"

No they fucking don't and that graph proves it. The 3DS is a handheld, not a console, so it's a different market.
