FF XIII was not made to appeal to western gamers. It was made even more Japanese style than past ones. The battle system is still turn based and the game follows all the Japanese RPG tropes that appeals to the Japanese. Western RPGs are nonlinear and western gamers love big worlds like Mass Effect and Elder Scrolls, FF XIII is linear just like all JRPGs. The problem with FF XIII was it wasn't a great game. It wasn't a bad game, it just wasn't a great game. The only major difference between it and past Final Fantasy games is its lack of towns. All you do in towns is talk to people and buy/sell stuff and you still get to talk to people and buy/sell stuff in FF XIII.

I will not enter in discussion about that but FFXIII was developed with focus in Western Style... FFvXIII was developed with focus in Japonese Style... that a fact.

Lol, that's not a fact. FF XIII is SOOOOOO Japanese it hurts. JRPG have never been truely non-liniar. They have only given the illusion of exploration. WRPGs have always been very open and more about exploration than pure story. JRPG have always been more about story and characters than true exploration. In that regard FF XIII is far more appealing to the Japanese who prize story over exploration.

If FF Vs XIII turns out to be an open world with action adventure combat than it would be far more Western in gameplay than FF XIII.

Don't want to derail this too much, but you are very wrong. FF13 was made for the western audience in mind. That's been SE's mantra for this generation and it's failed them. You really don't play many JRPGs if you think it's very Japanese. Whether the game is linear or not is the most overblown thing since this game has gone out. It's a tiny aspect of every game and now every demands non-linearity because.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."
