Unfortunately the kid gloves still seem to be on as far as reviewers are concerned. I just watched a video review for the game that qualified the score based upon the platform. As in it is on the Wii U so they lowered their standards. It is basically the same thing a lot of reviewers used to do with games for the Wii. They didn't take the platform at all seriously, and thus didn't take reviewing games for it seriously.
As perverse as it may actually sound. Edge might actually be the fairest reviewer on the list as far as consumers are concerned. They may be giving their readers more credit. Then other reviewers who are candy coating their reviews, because they think you their readers aren't very sophisticated. Personally I would feel somewhat insulted if someone assumed that I didn't know what actual quality was.
