Copy of Ryu is easier with the broader weapon selection (am i wrong, or was the original game Sword Only?) You can keep it at arm's length with the Scythe, except when it uses the Scythe, where you have to very carefully Counter it.

By the time I got to him they gave out the extra weapons.  I think I was using the scythe, or another heavy weapon.  I got fed up because I had no way to dodge his Ultimate Attack and that knocked my health way down and I couldn't finish the fight.

Yeah, my strategy was to just keep it at arm's length with basic, light scythe attacks. Though when i tried the chapter later (with, i think, Ayane) that wasn't an option, but i quickly learned that some of his attacks are easy to X-counter (like the charged scythe attack)

Go on about this "X-Counter"
