Console allegiance is stupid. The only reason I never purchased a 360 is because Halo doesn't appeal to me, I'm not paying to play multiplayer, and I already have an HD console.

Yep, let me pay $130 + $20 + $20 = $190 to play Gears & Alan Wake offline. Makes sense.

I have my orginal slim ps2 that still works great. And I doubt you know more than 1 person.

I'm not lying when I say most people I know who owned a PS2 had it break. The only people I know with working PS2's now are me (I bought a replacement) and 2 other people, both got the PS2 Slim late.

As for 360, $130 + $20 + $20 = $170, and you get 3 games for that price (Gears Triple Pack is 2 games plus DLC). That's less then what they cost brand new (3 x $60 = $180). Plus 360 has a lot more to offer then just Halo, Alan Wake, and Gears of War. Mass Effect 1, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, The Witcher 2, Fable 2 and 3, Crackdown 1 & 2, Forza Motorsport 2 - 4 + Horizon, PGR 3 and 4, Too Human, Viva Pinyata, etc.

If you're happy with what PS3 offers, you don't need a 360, Most of the library overlap (multiplatform titles). However if you want the best games to play with your limited time, buying a 360 makes sense. If you don't like Halo, 360 still has a lot to offer. Only when you don't like shooters, RPG's and Racing games (All 3) can you say that 360's exclusive library doesn't appeal to you.

Also if you really want to play Gears of War online, you can buy a 1 month gold card for $8 I believe. Most 360 exclusives (RPG's) don't require online access or play. Besides, this game has an amazing single player component.
