"I like making... to me the FP is more important than the S, right? The first-person is very powerful. It is at the end of the day where interactive experiences, where the ultimate goals, lie, because that's what our experience is."
That was a really good quote and part of the reason why the anti-FPS people annoy me so much. When Levine talks about Bioshock being more like a novel than a film, I can understand what he means, because I think that's part of why I like the FPS genre. I watch very little television or cinema and have always been much more into novels, so to me, the first-person perspective is excellent at creating immersion. When used right, it just feels more sophisticated than other perspectives from a story-telling standpoint.
What I like about Levine, and what makes me kind of jealous, is that you can tell the creative process is a major part of his life, that he thinks about what he's doing constantly. It's hard to not respect that kind of passion.
