At first, it looked like that the Wii U was going to shape up to be toe to toe with the other offerings by Sony and Microsoft.  However, with the announcement of 8GB of RAM in the PS4, and the 360 set to match, I am not sure and have doubts.  Also there is word about companies being iffy on this.  This being said, what is the case for the Wii U being able to stand toe to toe with the PS4 and Microsoft's offering for multiiplatform titles?  I see the lack of RAM as a major hurting issue, combined with a lack of a harddrive.

Can someone lay out why the Wii U won't be in the same boat as the Wii did with third-party?

Having 8x less ram never stopped the PS3 from getting stellar looking games. My point is, the PS4 has 8GB of ram yes not every single game in the market will be optimized for that kind of format ESPECIALLY if the game is looking to be multi-plat, which many games are today. Many exclusive games however may take advantage of that but don't assume the PS4 is the only console to get exclusive games, REMEMBER, a wave of games was also announced to be exclusive to the Wii U before E3. So yes, you could be one sided and look at it like that, but then it sounds a bit ridiculous if only you are using the 8GB of ram argument. Perhaps in the Wii vs PS3 and 360, the difference in power was dramatic enough to make an argument, but remember that the Wii also had other problems too such as the audience it targeted and its image. The Wii U is HD, is more traditional and has a much better online infrastructure. You must realize that its potential will be a lot closer to its competitors. So now it will not be up to power alone, but GAMES, and SALES. Who ever can push more consoles.

Its too early too be worried. We do not know the fate of the PS4, so don't be worried about the fate of the Wii U. I hope I was able to put more assurance in you.

(Edit: When I said 8x less ram I was comparing PS3 to PS4. I have my reasons)
