For further clarification on the bet, the entire "you are on drugs" thing started, because tbone51 repeatedly put Luigi's Mansion in the same group as Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, NSMB and SM3DL when it came to sales. Also, I don't know how serious he takes the whole drug thing, but the answer seems to be "very much".

I think I remember that thread. Didn't he also predict that Fire Emblem: Awakening will go on to sell over 2 million, or is my memory overexaggerating? 

yes, i said 2mil lifetime, not years end! its at 800k now and digital should be well over 150k (best selling retail game on eShop in US). 1.75-2mil is not out of reach.

1.5 million is the upper end for me. I'll settle for it being the new best-selling game in the series.
