i've heard that one too.  i think wii damaged nintendo's reputation.  there are a lot of dissatisfied customers, like myself, that no longer trust nintendo.

Wii itself didn't damaged Nintendo's reputation, the lack of software support after arguably the best year for the Wii(2010) did. In 2011 we had, what, 6 worthwhile games coming over the entire year? 2012 was even worse. Wii is my favourite console this generation for delivering different games and experiences compared to the "HD" consoles which delivered(mostly) generic shooters and racing games, but the lack of software support damaged my respect for Nintendo. If Nintendo(and, consequently, third-parties) didn't stopped releasing Wii games for it to focus on the 3DS and Wii U, I believe that the company's situation would be much more comfortable now.
