There are some games that I own and see people listing that I thought looked pretty bad.
Zelda SS looked pretty bad on anything except my daughter's tiny HDTV (19 inch, I think. It may be smaller.
Xenoblade looked horrendous to me. Still was fun, though.
The Last Story looked pretty decent but nothing special.
Endless Ocean looked pretty bad.
Other M looked really good at times and really bad (almost PS1 bad) at other times.

I can only comment on games I've actually played, though. I know first hand that screenshots lie. I have my PC connected to the same HDTV that I game on and the screenshots look better on the PC than they do actually running on the console.

Skyward Sword I agree with; I actually think that game looks pretty bad myself, though thankfully it's still a great game thanks to its awesome controls, combat, and dungeon design. Xenoblade I can also understand to a degree; though its vistas take my beath away, individual assets can be very low res.

But how did Endless Ocean look bad, apart from the stiff above-water sequences?

And Other M looking PS1 bad at times? That seems a bit of an extreme statement to me. Yeah, it has some PS2-ish textures here and there among its generally very slick assets, but PS1? I'm going to assume you mean the infamous icicles, but that's just one out-of-the-way background asset, you can find things that bad even in PS360 games if you look hard enough.
