Near-term:
- Battery tech improvements e.g. efficient piezoelectric power generation for portable devices, biological battery creation etc.
- Functional bionic organs/limbs (a bionic eye has already been approved by FDA)
- Coding and taking advantage of GPU tech becoming significantly easier for general purpose tasks
- Improved understanding of protein folding leading to improved protein design for biopharmaceuticals and nanotech scale components

Medium-term:
- Biological components integrated into circuitry (e.g. Efficient DNA storage)
- Full understanding of protein folding to give better tools for custom protein design (which can lead to using proteins for nano tech or as a scaffold for metal nanotech device production as well as complex therapeutic proteins)
- Implants for patient monitoring to be relatively common
- Manned mission to Mars
- Mapping of the human epigenome; the process of which will in turn lead to new Cancer cures and treatments for genetic diseases
- Bionic limbs and organs to offer superior performance/functionality versus natural equivalents
- Mapping of the human brain (protein expression, epigenetic changes etc.)

Long-term:
- Quantum computing to greatly increase research speed
- Likely after my death but hopefully not: Integration between humans and computer devices (this is really only possible if a lot of the above happen) to give possibility of transferring conscious minds beyond a single physical body.
