from a console stand point now. from a portable side the future is very Bleak. The Nintendo 3DS at $250 has always sold more better then the PSP & DS & PS Vita & Game Boy & all Home Consoles.
The Nintendo 3DS sold more in its first 1 month then any other system, and same goes for first 6 months & 12 months & 18 months & 2 years.
By your logic the PS3 & 360 & PS2 & Wii & Wii U & PS4 & 720 should just move into another product to rival Angry Birds.

The 3DS sales are up there with the PS3 & 360 in NA & Europe.
Its the PS Vita sales that are still flat in NA & Europe.
The 3DS in the first 5 months was selling at $250 and sold more then the PS3, as well as more then the 360 for the first 5 months sales of each of these systems as well as comparing the first 1 month sales and first 2 months sales and first 3 months sales and first 4 months sales compare to any one of those 2 consoles, even if you compare it to DS instead, even if you compare it to Wii instead.

3DS NA: 16,582
PS3 NA: 32.390
3DS EU: 31,127
PS3 EU: 47.224
Also jsut add the PS3 is 7 years old and the 3DS barely 2 years old.
The rest of that was amazing fiction to read though! im not bad mouthing nintendo at all. im just saying Sony cant shift Vitas and nintendo struggled big time to shift 3DS's this gen and even cut the price in HALF to try and sell the thing. Sony and Nin are in for a big shock if they think they can have another portable gen. unless both systems release for $89.

Nintendo can have another handheld gen, pokemon alone could carry out for it. There has been no releases of games for 3DS in Europe and NoA only had Fire Emblem Awakening, which is not a system seller. PS3 is doing great and easily pummeling even X360 cuz of exclusives (it will have lots very soon). Dont count Nintendo out yet, Just you wait!

And you didn't compare the first 1 month sales of the PS3 to the first 1 month sales of the 3DS.
And you didn't compare the first 2 months sales of the PS3 to the first 2 months sales of the 3DS.
And you didn't compare the first 3 months sales of the PS3 to the first 3 months sales of the 3DS.
And you didn't compare the first 4 months sales of the PS3 to the first 4 months sales of the 3DS.
And you didn't compare the first 5 months sales of the PS3 to the first 5 months sales of the 3DS.

I don't know why you keep trying to bring Vita up? The vita sales are horrendous at best.
unless the 3DS was $600 at launch I wouldn't say it's a great comparison. It also had 2 competitors who's sales where better. The 3DS almost has 100% market share of this portable gen and its sales are poor. Not bashing Nintendo again I'm bashing the mass market. What I'm saying again is that in 5 years the next portable genie will be impossible for Nintendo to move hardware! That's why in my opinion Sony and Nintendo should invest in mobile gaming now.
Actually it would be interesting to see a Nintendo phone! God every kid under 15 would want one I bet. (I would probs get one even)
