Youve already been told about the 120k, so thats out of the way. Anyway. The 90k alone puts it in the Top 10 Vita retail games in Japan. Its obviously a "big" game for them over there. Pricecuts always bring a sales spike, followed by the legs after if games are releasing. If it gets games then the cut will be worth it, if not then this relatively small spike will be pointless. This cut/game combo isnt big. It isnt impressive. It got outsold by its main competitor by over 20% on the spike week. Your low expectations were strange. 40k? If it sold 40k on pricecut week with a Top 10 game, you may aswell have called it game over. 3DS Pricecut Week? It sold over 200,000 units with a game that sold less than the "niche, pervy" game. 3 Weeks later, with no new game, it dropped to 60k. 60k simply isnt impressive, its around the point of "okay".. 40k would have been laughable. Now tell me where that damage control was... |
No, it's not a big game. That's the problem. Vita has no AAA games.
I find it funny how you keep using 3DS to compare Vita sales and decide if they're good or not. LOL. Not only is this a Nintendo handheld, but it is dominating the Japanese market. Expecting Vita to match, or worse, surpass the 3DS, is extremely unrealstic. The demand for the PSP was always lower than the DS. The demand for Vita will always be lower than the 3DS.
60k is impressive for a "dead" handheld with no major 3rd party Japanese support. No Monster Hunter, No Mario, No Pokemon, No Final Fantasy, No Resident Evil...etc..etc.(Basically all the major Japanese IP aren't on the Vita, but they are on the 3DS)
