sony stores selling samsung TV's is the same as MS stores selling laptops running windows?  I see.... brilliant!

Not to be devils advocate here but the ones being sold in the sony stores have LCD panels and video drivers boards built during the Sony/Samsung LCD partnership (with the last few models using Phillips driver boards), so it's actually not a million miles away from being accurate, since while those laptops are running windows, theyre still sony laptops - and while those tv's are samsung tv's theyre still built using sony+samsung parts.

the difference is that microsoft's success depends on the sales of sony/acer/samsung laptops, sony's success depends on competing with samsung and being successful with that. it is a totally different thing.

back to topic:

i really doubt that some official guy said that, maybe he said  "our dream is it to sell as many units as samsung and apple anytime in the future" or something ike that.
