I never understood why its such a big deal if M$ doesnt expressly bundle a diffrent browser with thier OS. To be honest anyone who is smart enough to realize IE sucks is smart enough to go download their own Browser. Its not like its difficult at all. Sometimes these rulings against corporations go way too far. In the end its the consumer that loses.

For all those people who are happy M$ lost answer me this. Who is going to end up footing the bill for this? Ultimately its the consumers. M$ is just going to recoup the losses by charging more for their services. And who pays for those services? Thats right the consumers. ALL OF US have to be punished because the EU thinks that some people are too stupid to download a different browser. Awesome...

The point is that having an alternative browser would NOT have cost MS anything in the first place. Sure they might have lost a little bit of market share in the browser market but IE would still have been the browser by a wide margin. And no I dont see why MS should be passing this off to consumers fr a mistake they made.

I find it interesting that people like you are brushing off what MS did and making various excuses to justify their position.

I agree. It would not have been hard for them to do. But then again its even easier for a consumer to actually go and download their own browser... I mean seriously why should M$ have to bundle someone else's browser when its THEIR Operating System... But thats a different rant for a different topic.

Anyways as for M$ passing this off to consumers its going to happen. The point of any company is to increase your bottom line. Fines decrease their bottom line. In order to make stock holders happy in some way M$ will HAVE to pass this off to consumers. Thats just how business works. No matter if it was their fault.

The point is that Ms AGREED to add a second browser and didnt follow thru. If they objected so much to the idea of another browser, then why did they even agree to it. I mean it would be have probably cost them less to take court action if they didnt like the rules. Yet they didnt and later on down the line they chose to ignore the requirement for the additional browser.
