What's with some of those *known* anti-Nintendo people coming into practically every single Nintendo thread and derailing the whole thing with stuff that doesn't have anything to do with the thread's subject, at all? Geez stop the silliness and get over it, everyone knows you guys don't like Nintendo one bit, so stop spamming Nintendo threads. -_-

Anyway, OP, I would assume because they simply appeal to a much wider audience than most of the typical 'core' games which are very front-loaded. Good gameplay is good forever, which is basically what those evergreen titles focus on. Good graphics go bad really fast, and increasingly so. So if your game doesn't have a whole lot else to distinguish itself beside pretty visuals, it will stop selling pretty soon.
