Will PS4 and NextBox launches suffer same fate as WiiU?

I hardly think that PS4 and Nextbox will have incredible launches but I think they'll be a lot more stable and won't suffer the same abysmal sales drop after the holidays.
Sony are bound to have learned from the 599$ blunder and one would assume that MS would never put themselves in the RROD position again, the support from developers is already there and is mostly a given.
With the right pricing, decent launch line-up (anything beats the dreary sort the PS3 and 360 offered up upon launch) and some games in Q1 2014 making its way, paired with actual advertising (hello, Nintendo, I'm looking at you) and a fully functional console from the start (I'm looking at you again, Nintendo), they can do fairly well from the start.
Having Nintendo announce and launch first allowed Sony and MS to bide their time, plan out a real strategy and respond to the market as it stands, they both certainly have the upper hand on Nintendo right now, with Nintendo coming off of a home console that suffered a historical decline and no momentum desipte being market leader and launching a successor that suffered yet another historical decline and has no momentum and very poor support.

The PS4 and Nextbox launch won't be magical or gigantic by any measure, in my opinion, but it is incredibly hard to imagine any plausible scenario where they fare as ill as the Wii U in their first year, I just don't think that's possible unless the entire industry suddenly collapses and everything grinds to a halt.

Its premature to make any kind of decent hardware and software predictions though, I'll hold off on that until we actually see the Nextbox, get confirmed prices and launch line-ups for both. Anything else is a mere shot in the dark. Thinking that the PS4 and Nextbox will fare better than the Wii U, however, is not a shot in the dark, there is nothing to suggest at this point that the same fate will befall the two next home consoles while there was a lot to suggest that the Wii U would be in the state it currently is (and I believe there were many of us who said as much last year).
