If you fire the guy who made mario, donkey kong, wii fit, wii sports, nintendogs, starfox, zelda and so on and so forth, you must be stupid. Why would they fire him? Also, he is one of the main leaders of nintendo, if I'm not wrong he's on level with Reggie. 

The same way apple fired steve jobs back before they rehired him after a decade+, companies make dumb decision constantly.
