We will see a ton of those cheap smartphone developers die, smartphone gaming is more a fad than anything else. I wouldn't be surprised if we will see an all out crash on the market. Sure, some devices will always be sold, as they are the new cell phones, but it won't be the hot item to get forever and the ridiculous growth also will stop eventually, followed by a decline. There's a lot of hype about smartphones nowadays, but hypes come and go while handheld consoles have been around for more than two decades. They may not generate record breaking sales, but they are far more reliable. Look at this way: Whoever buys a Handheld has a interest in gaming for sure. The Hardware base therefore gives you quite a good picture about the chances of a software product. But when someone buys a smartphone, you have no idea whatsoever, what it's gonna be used for.
I'm talking a lot of yadda-yadda here, but it all comes down to this: Don't believe the hype. Handheld consoles are here to stay.
