They can't because Microsoft's next console doesn't exist until Microsoft says so. Just like The Witcher 3 is coming to PC, PS4, and "next gen consoles". It's all silliness, of course, but there you go.

They would have listed PS3 and X360 if they were going to release this on Wii U. Why? Because if it runs on Wii U, it's pretty much guaranteed to run on PS3 and X360 and you can't deny it's a much better business decision to release it on those two consoles than it is to release it on Wii U so if there was a Wii U version, there would definitely be a PS3 version and an X360 version as well. So there you go, no Wii U version coming, at least according to current plans.
