I also don't think the intention of that release is to say all those features are 100% about the same thing/base. So, video chat is inherently distinct from Miiverse chat. I mean afterall there is no "Video chat" IN miiverse so that part has to be clearly referring to the separated function. |
I disagree Miiverse already does allow video adds but only to specific users at this time, this to me indicates the video powered game experience where people might be able to post videos of their own gameplay on their consoles onto Miiverse as it is browser based and it'll be like a personal Youtube for Nintendo. This company Vidyo grouped video chat and Miiverse all in one because they most likely coded it all or certain features to Nintendo's design, Miiverse on it's own was always going to expand to other platforms but the video chat wasn't necessarily hinted at.
