It will be interesting to see how the next Senran Kagura game does on the 3DS and if this is a boost for the series in general. I know that's where they said the main series will stay, though I wonder if plans would change if the next 3DS version came in well below the Vita numbers.

It could have just been lip service to make sure there's a backup plan and not burning any bridges. There's no guarantee what system the next game will be on.

Here's an interesting little item: looking at Senran Kagura under Trophies shows it listed as both PSV and PS3. Mistake? Or slipup for future plans?

Would not surprise me to see them pull a DoA and make a Plus edition for the PS3, which comes with new wedding dress/race queen costumes for the girls along with a waterpark vacation mode.  I'm sure it can be done some easily and would look just fine.

Senran Kagura definitely seems to be an IP on the rise and they're obviously going to ride the surge from the anime as long as they can.

The producer already said he intends to create a new series of Senran Kagura from Shinovi Versus, before the game came out. Now they have the sales to back that up.

And again, the PS3 idea could have just been another back up to salvage sales in case the Vita game went sour. Or they could just do it to make more profit. Never really know until the official announcements come.

Marvelous AQL has been doing really well on Vita since they released Assault Gunners, they even mentioned better than expected sales in previous quarterly statements, and they seem to be getting further entrenched on developing for the console. It's good to see small to medium size developers do well, and I think they provide the best games since they haven't rotted from the inside to desperately please investors who know nothing about games like the bigger corporations have.
