Somini apparently believes that the way multi-billion dollar corporations become as successful as they are is strictly by knee-jerk reactions to anything their competition does, rather than carefully planning their product's outlook and corporate portfolio well in advance to steer clear of any potential bumps in the road, such as shifting market trends and new / changing tactics from their competition.

Pretty much explains why Sony is in the hole they are today.
