i am glad its selling well...
Sony wheres the worldwide price cut >=(

Around the date new AAA games arrive, so that it has a better effect on sales.    Japan got the price cut, so that with the new games arriving, the PSVITA would be an instant massive buy.

At least that is what I think :D

I agree that dropping the price around the time of a AAA game would be advisable, but...what is there in the near future which would qualify as one (i.e. selling well over 1 million units)?

Killzone and tearaway?

Tearaway has no firm release date so probably won't be here for another 6 months at least, and even then it's a new IP so is unlikely to be a real system seller.

Killzone is coming in September, so that's still 6 months away, and it's not being developed by the same team who did the other titles. In addition, Killzone has never been as huge as Uncharted (2.9mil for the best selling title vs. 4.5mil for the worst respectively), and although the Uncharted game for Vitawas a launch title, it's still to sell a million units. And the PSP Killzone title never broke a million units, either. Add in the fact that the other two "huge" FPS Vita titles have turned out to be terrible (and although the series' are much bigger than Killzone although the series is in decline, still struggled sales-wise) and you've got a lot of people with a sour taste in their mouths.

So the "best" chances for the Vita to have big games are an untested new IP with no release date and a FPS title which isn't as big as the other two titles that have come before it which launches in 6 months? I don't see anything here that screams "BUY ME!" to the masses. I'm perfectly content (not 'happy') with my Vita, but do I expect it to perform sales-wise? Not really.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
