Nintendo needs more people to take the risk and purchase the console. Right now the main issue is the weak software lineup. You have a console with 3 worthwhile exclusive and the rest are just ports you can get on other consoles. When the system has a better lineup, not necessarily system sellers, but good games, more people will be willing to invest. Right now nothing differentiates the Wii U, in terms of games, from the ps3 or 360.

Its only going to get harder aswell, I usually get a new console/ handheld every year, this year I was going to get a WiiU because I thought the ps4 wouldn't be announced or released until next year. Now instead of getting a WiiU im going to wait for the ps4 and pick up a WiiU maybe late next year.

Nintendo has been mum about the rest of the years software lineup. Hopefully a plethora of worthwhile software is announced later via nintendo direct and at e3. As it stands it doesn't look promising.  This month should be ok, Lego City, Need for Speed, and Monster Hunter are coming. While not massive sytems sellers, they will do well to strenthen the library.
