Somewhat unfair and irritating generalizations aside... First-party games are what sell on Nintendo systems. Nintendo systems have very rarely ever needed strong third-party support to survive.

N64 basically relied on Nintendo in-house software and Rare to provide software, as third-parties pretty much all jumped over to PSone due to lower developments costs as well as the CD-ROM format being more cost-friendly.

GameCube began with strong third-party support but the look of the console as well as the controller not having two full analog sticks made it so that gamers who wanted to play dual-analog heavy games like FPS's pretty much all migrated to PS2 and Xbox. It's pretty much been like that ever since.

Wii made third-party support even less likely because the graphics were merely GameCube-quality and people who may have been interested in a Wii that had HD capabilities were then turned off by the lower-quality graphics as well as the fact that Wii never had a universal dual-analog controller.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.
