At first I was going to disagree because I didn't think it would cause much harm. But after I thought about it, I agree. The potential for the points to be beneficial is completely nonexistent; no one is going to improve the site because of points. On the other hand, the potential to harm the site does exist, even if there's a severely low chance of if happening, as there are some people who let the points go to their head. So yeah, I agree. Get rid of points and every other feature who serve no benefit to the forum. It's guaranteed that such removal wouldn't harm the forum, but it might help the forum, even if by only a little.
