Pwahahaha, rightyo if that's how you saw reality unfolding. You compared two games of probably the most shallow genre, and then ran away when I mentioned things like SotC, Ico, Flower, Journey, Heavy Rain etc. Those games are far more involved, mature, emotionally gripping than any Nintendo game. But apparently, SSBB is the peak depth of gaming. |
This will never end because you and Rol have diametrically opposed value systems. He sees gameplay as non-superficial (hence deep), and you see story, emotional relevance, environment, visuals as non-superficial (hence deep).
Though anyone in their right mind will agree that a great story, good characters, vibrant worlds can get a player at a more personal level, some enjoy gameplay so much that it gets them at a very deep level, so this is a lost cause as to trying to reconciliate gamers with two very different value systems when it comes to games.
Those valuing story/visuals/worlds over gameplay.
Those valuing gameplay over story/visuals/worlds.
