As far as I remember the PSX had FFVIII (Gunblade! ;o), MGS, 3 MMX games, a few Resis, all with depth as well as gameplay :) Gamers were okay with them. Of course games like that benefit from technological advancements to better present the characters, worlds, environments, but that's with any genre that attempts to captivate in an imaginary world with visuals and story.

I hated FF8(draw was the biggest piece of shit design ever, story was also corny as fuck), I still think MGS is the best MGS game though, Megaman also hasn't been that good since the PSX days TBH, the best ones are still on the original Nintendo since 2D platformers depend much less on graphics. Tells you that we really haven't come that far though, it's pretty sad. I still have The Last of Us and Beyond 2 Souls to look forward to though!


THANK YOU!  FF8 is such garbage...it was the beginning of everything that is wrong with FF games.  The character design was stupid, the story made no sense, and the game was more about cut scenes then gameplay!
