I used to be a big PlayStation fan back in the PS1 days and the Spyro games were my favorite. I felt right at home, but over time it became more and more apparent that Sony and I had to part ways. While I grew up to leave my teenager years behind me, Sony refused to do the same. For the handful of female members we have around here, let me point out the entire scope of a male teenager's brain:

1) Is she hot?
2) If yes, how hot is she?

This mindset doesn't only apply to how male teenagers perceive women, but everything else as well. While I began to look at the finer details of games, Sony was still stuck in a mentality where only superficial things really mattered. The advancement of technology became less important to me over time, because a mediocre game with pretty graphics would still be a mediocre game. I wanted my games to be great at their core, not full of distractions that covered up for an unpolished/unbalanced game. You might say that good gameplay and good graphics are not mutually exclusive and you would be right for saying this. That's why I switched to Nintendo who have the highest batting average when it comes to making games like that.

I still follow the news on Sony systems and games, but time and time again I end up being disappointed, because they are unwilling to change. The PS4 announcement wasn't an exception to this rule, but further confirmation. I hope that one day I can own a Sony system without regrets again, but until then I'll stick to Nintendo games.

Complete opposite for me. I've always been into great games that get me at a deep level. Games like OoT, Final Fantasy IV, Megaman, games that have visual appeal and attitude, as well as good game design.

Those are games that make me happy. Difference between me and you is that, now I don't care what platform I play on, I just play those great games. I'm done waiting after a specific company to wake up and please me, I'll just actively seek those games that satisfy me.

So, I'm currently going back into older games I never had a chance to enjoy, and so I'm currently playing FFX, and will get to KH the first one once I can.

In general, neo-Nintendo games just don't have that appeal to me that games like FFX and OoT do.
