That is understandable, but games that arent even a week old getting sold used is completely ridiculous for developers and publishers


Unfortunately that's just the risk they have to take. They can mitigate it to be sure. But blocking used games can have a huge negative effect. I still buy PS1/PS2 games. Games that I cannot possibly get new these days. What happens 10-20 years from now when the PS4 is but a fleeting memory? Are those games forever lost to the retro gamer?
