Just curious. And to those admiring the OP and his "balance", this is the usual kind of thread he serves up; http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=156108&page=-1#1 Most of the complaints in here are regarding the format of the text, a most legitimate complaint when you see the original, unedited first post. As for the content itself, its one-sided, naive, filled to the brim with factual error, childish and contradictory statements and generally arguments based on wild assumptions and, ultimately, hopes and wishes. |
Here's where your logic is completely flawed :) You forgot to do your homework! TV and stereo sales have been declining over the past two years and are predicted to drop further.

While I agree that smart phones and tablet sales have risen substantially, that is mainly for the reason that they are basically replacing PC's and Laptops, especially in the business market which purchases a large amount of these devices. In a sense it is more affordable to purchase a $199 -$500 tablet that allows you to watch videos, play games at high resolution, email, surf, talk, GPS, etc. They are basically becoming incoporated into are daily lives and almost as being marketed as a necessity.
In these economic times where the U.S almost went over the fiscal cliff (even though is jumped off long ago) you are going to see people more reserved to high purchases especially when it comes to Sony, M$, and Nintendo systems where have to spend an additional $1000 + to have a decent library of games/ extra peripherals, etc
It also looks like were headed for a global recession this year which could see lower than expected sales for all next gen consoles while higher than expected for current gen due to price difference.
