EA is becoming notorious for very harsh F2P offerings. Just look at Star Wars: The Old Republic. It went F2P a few months ago and they incorporated the harshest F2P system I have ever seen.
Welcome to EA's new business. They'll keep this up until their profits tell them it's a bad idea.
