Nintendo was reaping what they had sown with their relationship with third party devs. The Gamecubes small amount of data that a disc could hold was enough for most devs but for those pushing tech to make the games they wanted the Gamecube was not the console for them. The DVD's the PS2 and Xbox had held 8GB of data while Nintendos only held like 1.5 GB. Still forcing the devs who want to push their games back. Again, no one needs to question it because Nintendo doesnt work around devs to amass a great library while making their own games to compliment it, they force devs to adapt to them and there has never been a gen where this has changed. They have too much pride...and before the fall there is always pride. Little do you know but the gamecube box forced a lot of gamers to shy away giving them the wrong idea that the console was for kids when a lot of the games on the console was for everyone just like the 64. Nintendo has some amazing first party, but just like Sega, if thats it all comes down to you are doing your fans a disservice. Why not make a console where both Nintendo and developers win? Never Nintendo ever thought of such a thing. Nintendo couldn't give the fans the Gamecube Mario title they deserved, but instead gave them a good but not good enough Mario Squirt gun game to clean dirty beaches in a similar vein to Luigi's mansion. Please....Nintendo only did what made them happy, not what was good for everyone. I had all of the consoles that gen and trust me, the Nintendo got the least play.
