Not entirely sure, but isn't Nintendo like the biggest publisher around? Market isn't getting bigger, and the fight for the marketshare is though. Not to bring up conspiracy theories, but if Nintendo goes down, it would open a lot of space for other publishers. Besides, if they manage to grab a couple of IPs, bingo!
