Did Gamecube have a Mario Kart? Or a Mario 3d? (I'm not sure. Just asking, though I think they did).
I have to disagree with you. Handhelds and home consoles don't work the same way. The main reason wii was a success was the motion controllers and Wii Fit. Mario Kart will help a lot, but not enough to beat ps4/720 unless Sony and Ms screw up somehow.
It needs a new hit. Even 3ds is doing extremely well in Japan, but far from great everywhere else.
