I'd like to ask a different question. If you don't think it is as large of a leap, did you watch the killzone, driveclub, and other game footage in SD or did you watch them in HD?

Also for a fun game I have four pictures of car games from the pre PS4 era. Just take a quick sec and say which platform it looks like off the top of your head. I know this is really easy to cheat at but that isn't the point. Also I fully admit to resizing and reshaping the pictures to manipulate your opinion.

I've seen this put forward again and again.  Also the suggestion that people are making judgements based on screenshots alone and I struggle to believe that either of these are the 'issue'.

It's the internet, we all have access to the same media and unless bandwith is a big issue for some users I would imagine most people would have watched these in 1080p or whatever was the best quality available.  With the quality of graphics we have on all sytems these days it wouldn't make sense to make judgement  based on poor quality/low res Youtube vids.

Notwithstanding the majority seem to think the leap isn't as big as previous gens. Does that make the right? Not necessarily, but it should at least give those 11% food for thought.

Finally, (not directed at you specifically) people trying to suggest that the graphics are 8* better, purely based on the hardware supposedly being 8* stronger, simply do not understand the relationship between hardware power and graphics/image quality.
