Depends....because the Wii had such a similar architecture to the GC the Dolphin (the GC and Wii emulator) was updated to play Wii games like 2 years after the Wii release. The PS2 was pretty late in it's life, not 100% sure but the first PS2 emulator was 1 year before the PS3 launch. the DS was also hacked pretty quickly, although I don't sure when.

On the other hand we had the 360 which has not been emulated yet, but it was able to play hack games since 1 or 2 years after release (but you can't play on Live because MS somehow detects you have a modified console). 

The 3DS hasn't been hack yet, but their are rumors of some hackers that were able to do it (this was just a couple of months ago I believe), so if this is true we could see a way to hack the 3DS maybe this year.

Oh dear. No more E-shop support then.
