Well, if my idea actually turns out to be right, there'd be no real need for Ghost to be weak to the new type.
My idea was Moon (or Lunar) type. Not only are there quite a few pokemon that are suited to the Moon type (especially those that evolve by Moonstone) as well as moves, but it would be more interesting in terms of type resistances and weaknesses.
