First thing's first: am I the only one who thinks the PS4 controller looks amazing from that angle?

I like this a lot better than the front view, which makes it look a little clunky.

OK, second: this article is an important one. It might be a bit overlong, unfocused, and poorly formatted, but it hits some ideas that should be discussed. The first: fans can't have it both ways. If fans complain that PS4 pales in comparison to high-powered gaming PCs they can't also complain that it's overpowered. Second: some fans made up their minds long before the conference to dump all over the PS4, regardless of its strengths and weaknesses. And third, and most important, this passage: "By creating a system that addresses problems like complex hardware and lack of ram, they have created an environment that is welcoming for developers." If this is indeed the case, we should applaud Sony. Making things easier for game makers is something for which all hardware developers should strive.

Because graphics and horsepower aren't very important to me, I'm still a little underwhelmed with the presentation and Sony's vision of the future of gaming. But I understand and appreciate this author's frustration.

I'm still a bit confused and if anyone can please explain to me, what is the blue light coming from the controller for? Is that like for motion controls or what?

Have you ever used move? In infamous for example the light is red if you're evil and blue if your good. In Heavy Rain it changes color as you do actions. In shooters it flashes like a muzzle. Supposedly (according to Sony) this is the main use of the light, as well as telling the controllers apart. However this light doesn't look like it's even visible while in use due to angles and such. That leaves it's only purpose for eye toy tracking. One thing that Sony hinted at is the light telling the system the location of the players. This could then allow the system to automatically put the player on the right as P2 for split screen games. They also hinted that it allows on screen characters to talk directly to you.
